We thought our Perkins 4.108 engine troubles were behind us when we left California, but while transiting the Sea of Cortez, Mexico, we faced a complete engine failure. After limping back to La Cruz from Isla Isabel, we dug into the issue and discovered—surprise, surprise—the same old problem returned. We decided to visit our homeport for Halloween and Día de Los Muertos to spend some quality time with our dear friends @qmtravels and soak up all the vibrant festivities that @visitventura had to offer. The DDLM celebrations downtown were truly spectacular—traditional music, lively dancing, delicious food, and an atmosphere that made us feel like we were back in Mexico, where our beloved Avocet awaits.

💀 Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a vibrant Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. It honors and remembers loved ones who have passed away, blending indigenous traditions with Spanish influences. Families create colorful altars, or ofrendas, adorned with photos, favorite foods, and marigolds to invite spirits back for a joyful reunion. The celebration is a time of reflection, remembrance, and celebration of life, marked by music, dancing, and community gatherings. It’s a beautiful reminder that those we love never truly leave us. Grateful for these moments and the memories we continue to create!

Celebrating big brother @svprism’s 35th birthday

Celebrating big brother @svprism’s 35th birthday! 🎉 We had the best time mountain biking in Santa Cruz, karaoke, games, and making memories with family and friends (because good friends are family too!) 🙌 So glad we could celebrate before Jon heads back to Prism, where big plans are brewing 😉 Stay tuned for what’s next—maybe a YouTube return? Time will tell!

P.S. we learned that Jon can sing Eve6 songs perfectly in key.
